Mix to Next Cue

I've been messing about with theatre sound for many years but I'm new to SCS.

Is there any way to automatically set up a mix from one audio cue to the next? Specifically, I want to mix from a running loop to the next cue?

I'm presently doing this by setting a Fade Out on the loop and a Fade In on the next cue to the same length then "double tapping" my space bar. However I suspect I'm missing something easy here--but when I enter "cross fade" or "mix" in the search engine I get references to cross fading video.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Bob

Yes, you can set up a mix from one audio cue to the next. The key is to add an SFR sub-cue to your second cue to fade-out and stop the first cue. Here's an example using a 2-second cross-fade:

Q1: Audio file cue with fade-out time of 2 seconds.
Q2: Audio file cue with fade-in time of 2 seconds, plus an SFR sub-cue to 'fade out and stop previous cue'.

While Q1 is playing you can now press 'GO' (or equivalent) to start Q2. This will start the fade-in of Q2 and will also activate the SFR sub-cue to fade-out and stop Q1. So this provides a cross-fade from Q1 to Q2 with just a single 'GO'.

Perfect!

That's effectively what I was doing except I tried to be my own sub cue!

Thanks!

Sub cues are good tools.
So are delayed cues.
