Toggle Hotkey behaviour

Hi, When a hot key is set to toggle and the cue reaches its end, the hot key has to be tapped twice more to get it to replay. I guess SCS needs the 2nd toggle in a sequence to release the key ready for another sequence of toggles.
Is there a way to have the hotkey set to toggle and have it automatically reset if the cue reaches its end? This would mean that if you have a fade set then the first strike of the hot key would play the cue, the second would fade the cue, but if the cue is allowed to play through completely then the next strike of the hotkey will play the cue again from the beginning.

The same thing can be acheived by using a trigger hotkey but to be able to spontaneously fade the cue you must use a fading subcue thereby using up two hotkeys.

The reason SCS doesn't automatically reset the toggle if the cue ends is that this could cause a nasty surprise if you need to hit the 2nd toggle very close to when the cue ends. If you hit the 2nd toggle just before the cue ends, all is well, but if the 2nd toggle is pressed just after the cue ends then SCS would treat this as a 1st toggle request and start playing the cue again.

I sometimes get similar requests re SFR cues that stop an Audio File cue that has already ended - why doesn't SCS skip over the SFR cue since it's no longer required? The reason is the same - if you try to activate the SFR cue just prior to the natural end of the Audio File cue, but the Audio File cue beats you and ends just before you hit the 'GO' button (or equivalent), then if SCS had automatically 'completed' the SFR cue then your hitting the 'GO' button would actually start the next cue.

So the safest solution is for you to always run the cues with the same sequence of keystrokes, etc.

PS
Having written the above there is something that could be done to help regarding the toggle hotkeys. With the SFR cue scenario, if the Audio File cue ends before the SFR cue is activated, then SCS displays a warning in the status line on the bottom of the screen, eg "WARNING! Next Manual Cue has nothing to do! Q2 acts on Q1 which has completed. Press GO to complete Q2." It may be helpful if SCS also displayed a warning for any toggle hot key that has ended but is still waiting for the 2nd toggle key press.
