Slight SCS behavior change in 10.9.5 (fix in 10.9.6)

So I'm currently at my first gig using 10.9.5. I've noticed that in the Editor there has been a change in behavior in regards to playback within the Editor.
When I place the starting cursor on a section of the displayed waveform and then hit Play the waveform plays from the beginning of the waveform, regardless of where the cursor has been placed. In previous versions it would play from the point where the cursor is placed. This also happens when scrolling the marker on the playback timeline at the bottom of the Editor window. Regardless of where the marker is moved in the timeline the playback starts at the beginning of the waveform.
Also, when setting a Start Point for the waveform in the waveform display, there is another change. When you set a start point in the waveform display and hit play the selection immediately switches back from Start/End to Curr. Position.
These changes have slowed my programming of start points. I cannot use a simple placement of the cursor to find a good start point - I must instead go into Start/End and blindly choose a Start point. Then, if I don't like the selected Start Point I must re-select Start/End and find another Start Point. Also, when a Start Point is selected and I move the playback cursor to another section of the song and hit Play the playback starts at the Start Point regardless of where the cursor has been placed.

Seems like a bug - it's not an intentional change of behavior! I'll look into it.

Thanks Mike. I didn't want to label it a bug right off the bat. I thought I'd let you do that.

Fix ready for SCS 10.9.6 RC1 which I'll release later today.

This isn't a bug - that's intentional and has been that way probably since it was written. It's intended to prevent you accidentally changing the start position or loop-start position (depending on what you last set) if you set your start/end or loop-start/end position, start playing, and then want to skip through to a later part of the cue by clicking further through the graph.

Playback does now start where the playback cursor is placed in the waveform display of the Editor, BUT not on a waveform that already has a Start Point set.
If there is a waveform that has a Start Point set, the cursor time is still tied to the beginning of the waveform, not the set Start Point.
For example, if I have a waveform that has a Start Point set at :30 and I set the cursor at :35 into the waveform, playback still starts at the :30 mark. In fact, playback will always start at that :30 mark unless I choose a cursor position that is 30 seconds beyond the :30 Start Point. If I set the playback cursor at 1:01in the waveform, it will start playing back at :31, not where the cursor has been placed. The playback cursor will jump backwards from where it is set when playback starts, relative to the amount of time the Start Point is set from the beginning of the waveform (i.e., :30 Start Point - cursor jumps backwards :30; 1:00 Start Point - cursor jumps backwards 1:00).
This playback cursor behavior seems to be tied to the timeline slider. The timeline slider shows the playback start point of the waveform as the beginning of the waveform, not whatever playback Start Point has been set. So, when I have the same waveform with a Start Point at :30 and I slide the timeline slider to start playback anywhere between :00 and :29, the playback starts at the :30 Start Point. If I slide the timeline slider past the :30 mark it will properly play at the given time.

Should be OK now with 10.9.6 RC2.

Yep, that did it. Thanks, Mike.
Just for fun I downgraded to 10.7.5 to compare. The bug goes back to that version too, apparently.
I have a feature request, but I'll post it in the appropriate forum section.
