I have used SCS for many years and have just now encountered this problem. I have to exit the system completely after entering a cue, then it will allow me to enter another cue , then exit again, etc... Is this a setting in my machine, or is this something to do with 10.7.5 I have the software installed on my laptop and the desktop at the theatre, both are experiencing this problem. Laptop windows 7 ultimate, desktop windows XP professional. please help, very cumbersome to enter cues this way.

You should be able to enter and change as many cues as you like without exiting the editor. What is happening when you try to enter another cue?

I create one cue no problem. The problem happens with the subsequent cue. It addes the cue in the editor, but when I cllick to add the sound file to the cue no dialogue box opens (so I cannot navigate to the sound file). I have to delete this cue (before I can exit the editor) close the program, restart the program, then I can enter the next cue. I hope this makes sense.

I understand what you mean but it doesn't make sense. Try this: hold down the right Ctrl key while you start SCS. (It must the right Ctrl key, not the left Ctrl key.) You can release the Ctrl key when you see the splash screen. See if that makes any difference. What this action does is force SCS to bypass checking for ASIO, and some ASIO drivers seem to conflict with the ASIO library used by SCS.

I would have suggested that SCS might have become corrupted and it could be worth trying reinstalling SCS. I then realised that you have the problem on two machines with different OSs. Could it be a corrupt download or unzipping?

I encountered a similar problem at our local theatre last night, who have recently upgraded to SCS 10.7.4 - I loaded a pre-prepared show, and the editor would only allow me access to the cue/first subcue of the cue currently selected in the main window - I could not select any other cue, or select anything other than the first sub-cue in the current cue. To change other cues, I had to save, exit the editor, move to the next cue in the main window and then open the editor again. Even then, I cannot select subcues within the main cue. We have the same problem with other locally created cue files.

SCS was installed from an administrator account, but is being run from a user account - could this have anything to do with this issue?

Dave,

The cue list in the Editor should have background colors to match the cue types, eg light blue for audio file cues if you're using the SCS default color scheme. Does the Editor's cue list have these background colors on the theatre computer, or is the background white? NB the background should be white below the cue list, but not within the cue list. If the background is white this means the 'tree view' control is not being loaded properly and is not responding to mouse clicks. I'm not sure if there's a fix for this, but first of all I'd like to know if that seems to be the problem you are having.

Mike,

The cue list in the editor has the correct background colours, and the cues in the list can be higlighted with the mouse, but the editor display does not change, it stays on the cue that was selected when the editor was opened,

10/03: I think we're going to have to try a re-install once the show is over.
