See the new section in the Help file for SCS 10.7.4 entitled Setting Up Your Video Projector For Videos and Still Images (under Production Live Running). This is also applicable for setting up a second monitor.

Try changing the Video Playback option (under General Options / Permanent Options).
If that doesn't help, try a different video file format. Some MPEG formats, in particular, are known to be incompatible with installed codecs and it may be necessary to install different codecs. See the Forum topic
Tips on Video cues for more info.

Mike, Changing it to WMP did fix it. I was looking for this option but waqs looking for it in its own tab. What DirectShow component needs to be installed? I have WMP classic which uses directshow & the videos play fine in that.

If you have DirectX 9 or later you should be able to play videos using the DirectShow option in SCS. However, video file 'standards' are notoriously
non-standard, which is why there are numerous codecs to choose from. WMP does seem to handle more formats than native DirectShow, probably because the designers had more inside knowledge of the DirectShow API's.

Now after changing to WMP the images will not fade out. They fade in but not out. Any suggestions?

Can you email me your cue file (the .scs file) and tell me what image cues don't fade out? I've just tried it here and images fade in and out as required even when using WMP as the Video Playback option.

Now on wmp for the playing option not all of my videos are starting with the right cue. All of the ones that I am using in this show are tied to a sound cue & are set to start 0 sec AS of Cue. Some are very short, like 2 sec. They will start but not right away even though the play bar is moving on their cue. Any suggestions on how to get my 2nd display going with directshow, since that's the way you think it should be run anyways? I have DirectX 9.0c installed. Intel series 4 integrated graphics on a Dell. Is there a way to pre load video files? I don't know if that's why it isn't playing them quickly.
Thanks, Chuck
