Dell Latitude 6400, Win 7 64-bit, audio glitches

Greetings..

I've been having problems with SCS audio glitches ever since upgrading to a new laptop.. the system is a Dell Lattitude E6400, Core 2 duo processor, 4G of mem, running Windows 7 x64...

I have various audio problems depending on which output device I'm trying... if I use the built in sound, the issues mostly sound like "skips" where a section of music is repeated or skipped over.. happens fairly regularly, but not constantly -- you might run through a show once with no issues, but 90% of the time there will be at least one glitch in even a simple audio layout..

I also use a Presonus FireBox from time to time.. with this device, occasionally the audio will "skip" as described above, and occasionally it will sound more like garbage for a split second and then go back to normal playback.. I've tried both the on-board FireWire interface, as well as a PCMCIA card, with essentially identical results..

What I have not yet tried on this hardware is Windows XP 32-bit, or Win 7 32-bit.. Is that where I should go next, or am I missing something obvious?

I am using the latest release (downloaded two nights ago) currently, but I have been experiencing this issue with versions going back to January.. basically ever since I got a new Win 7 laptop..

Thanks!

Joe

Seems like you will need to disable the SCS internal mixer. See the forum topic "Fixing stuttering or skipping audio" for details.
