Coming out of a loop on a cue?

Hi guys,

I'm new to SCS, so forgive the possibly newbie question. I know that it is possible to loop audio in SCS, but is it possible to have a section looping and then on a cue, play on at the end of the loop (wherever in the loop the cue is triggered).

I'm thinking in terms of click tracks and vamps. So for example if you have a 30 second audio file, the first 10 seconds plays straight through, and then the loop points are set up at 10.000s and 20.000s so the second 10 seconds loops until required. Then, wherever the cue command is given in that loop (15s, 16s, 18s etc etc.), the file plays on through and out of the loop (past the loop end) - NOT jumping directly to the loop end.

Am I making sense? It's been a long morning so far :D

Thanks!

Martin

Hopefully answering my own question, is it the: "RELEASE from Loop and then play until end point" function that I need to use?

Can I confirm that this will not jump directly to the loop end point, but continue through the loop until it reaches the loop end and then carry on to the end of the file?

Cheers!

M

Hi Martin
As you rightfully said you answered your own question, if you build in an "Add SFR cue" and then select "Release from loop and then play to end point" your playing audio will continue on to the end of the track after it reaches the loop return point.
When setting up the 'Add SFR Cue' don't forget to select the cue which has the loop in it, this also means you could have other audio playing over the loop until your ready to release (this could be for example continuous rain with thunder claps at given points in a script and later the rain fades away.
Hope this helps
Regards
Peter

Thanks Peter. That will certainly be useful for vamping click tracks! Panto here we come.... (oh God  ) The world of 3 piece bands sounding like a Disney Orchestra!

Do you know if I purchase 10 now will I be entitled to the 11 upgrade?

Yes - the pricing policy is that when you purchase an SCS 10 license you are entitled to free updates for 12 months. This includes major version upgrades such as upgrading from SCS 10 to SCS 11.
