Self Scrolling Windows

I've had this happen a couple of times and I am at a loss to explain how or why. In the player the top window will occasionally get into a self scrolling mode. This happens when I am using the scroll bar to move up or down. When I release the bar or the button the window will begin scrolling by its self and a large up arrow will appear at the right side of the window followed by an even larger left arrow in the middle of the window. The only way I have found to got out this is to exit SCS.
Anyone seen this?

Is this on a laptop or a desktop? What type of mouse are you using? Did you recently download or update any drivers for your mouse, even via Windows Update?

Which version of SCS were you using when you last noticed this? I had occasional reports of this some time ago, and saw it for myself when discussing SCS with a client. I subsequently changed the style of the scrollbar in the cue list on the main window. Previously the style was 'Encarta' and now it is 'Regular'. The change to 'Regular' was released in SCS 10.6.0 on 5 August 2009. So were you using a version older than 10.6.0?

I first saw this a couple of times in 10.7 while designing the show and in 10.6.3 which I reverted to to run the show.
This is on a Toshiba laptop with an external mouse running fully up to date XP sp3.

Did this behavior happen after downloading some Windows updates?
Are you using any Microsoft Intellipoint drivers for your mouse?

Something else to check is what settings you have under Control Panel / Accessibility Options. Are ALL the checkboxes clear (with the possible exception of the checkboxes under General / Notification)? It's as if some kind of accessibility 'assistant' is kicking in.

Now that's a good thought.
All boxes are cleared except the notification section.
Ive seen this problem/feature with other software but I cant remember which one or what the resolution was. Could there be something in the code lib that produces this as some kind of feature for page navigation?

Unfortunately I can't help. The self-scrolling and large up arrow is certainly not a 'feature' of SCS but must be being set by an underlying control and some condition. I can't find anything on this with Google.

look at the mouse/touchpad options, in particular, one finger scrolling

Boswell I thought the same thing but I have all of the track pad helpers turned off due to poor implantation.
Mike I guess we chalk this up to one of the miseries of life.
