Jarring on cues after turning off internal mixer

Post by Lucy Record » Mon Jan 18, 2010 9:06 pm

Hi,
I've experienced a "jarring" sound midway through cues in a showfile, however after turning off the internal mixer it solved the problem only on cues loaded afterwards. The jarring is still present on All the cues loaded before this action was carried out. The jarring never occurs in the same place within the previous set of cues! Short of reloading all the sound sources back into each cue, is there an easy way around this?

Thanks in advance.

Changing the internal mixer setting requires you to close and restart SCS. Having done that, SCS uses or does not use the internal mixer (according to your setting) for ALL audio file and playlist cues. So it is unrelated to the state of the setting when you added the cues.

So with the option selected to NOT use the SCS internal mixer, and having closed and restarted SCS since last changing that setting, do you still have a problem with 'jarring' on some cues?

Internal mixer turned off, computer restarted, problem still remains....
It turns out that this "jarring" was due to the USB cable being either too long (approx 10 meters), or being placed next to a computer's power supply. We found that when we moved the cable away from the power supply the problem was fixed. Phew!
Many thanks for the help.
