Bug Report (Minor): Ribbon Bar on Editor Window

Post by mbatchelor » Thu Sep 24, 2009 12:37 am

Minor Bug - turning off the ribbon bar works on the main window, but not on the editor window.

Repro:
a- Click Options->Display Options->Ribbon Bar to un-check the ribbon bar
b- Notice that the ribbon bar goes away on the main window (correct) but stays on the editor window (incorrect)

Nothing will get rid of the ribbon bar on the editor window.

Thanks,

Marc

Why would you want to get rid of the ribbonbar in the editor? you would not be able to use the editor!
(or have I got the wrong end of the stick :( )

There's no way to hide the ribbon bar in the Editor. The facility was added for the main screen at the request of users who want to have a simple UI for operators, especially when the operators are unskilled in SCS - they mainly just need to know how to run the next cue. Although the functionality provided by the ribbon bar is still available when the ribbon bar is hidden, by using menus, it was considered that hiding the ribbon bar made the UI clearer, and the operators are less likely to click on something they shouldn't.
