Cue play glitches with fades are occurring...

Post by AudioBoyMA » Thu Feb 26, 2009 4:23 am

Has anyone else noticed a problem with triggering cues when fades are occurring? I'm using 10.3.1 and I've been seeing this happen more and more (it may have existed before this, I can't say for sure).

For example, I have one cue where the previous sound has a quick fade out, but while it's fading out I have to trigger another, short, sound cue. As long as the other cue is fading out, there is a noticeable delay (perhaps .1 or .2 seconds) in the triggering of the second cue. This happens even if I use a Hot Key or pre-load the entire sound or if I set the repeated keystroke limit to 0 seconds.

And I wonder if this is tied to another problem I've seen, which is fade-ups that skip. While another sound is playing, I'll trigger a sound that has a fade-up. The fade-up will start, the indicator will start to advance, then it'll suddenly skip all the way to the right and the sound will jump to full volume. This seems to happen regardless of the type of fade or the length.

Any thoughts on this? For the record, I have the software mixer disabled and am using the standard buffer settings.

Neil,

Could you email me your cue file (the .scs file) and tell me which cue is fading out and which cue is being started? Also, under Permanent Options / General, what do you have as the Max. No. of Audio Files to Pre-Open?
