Midi SCS

Post by sephers » Mon Feb 23, 2009 2:20 am

Hi all,
ive been using SCS for a while but Ive wanted to look into MIDI, Im not quite sure what midi is but I wanted to interface it with a Yamaha DM1000. I certainly get a midi input but I was mainly looking at using Midi to control faders. the DM1000 manual mentions Real-time control MIDI: using a midi channel to control a fader (fader H, fader L...) and then the channel and input number. I also wanted to look at starting and stopping the clock but when setting this up in SCS the clock start and stop doesn't do anything. I have setup the DM1000 to run MMC midi with device id: 1.

Any help appreciated,
Sephers.

I've no personal experience of the DM1000, but looking through the DM1000 MIDI Specifications I suggest you consider sending MIDI Program Change messages from SCS to recall Scene Memories on the DM1000. SCS is not designed to provide realtime control of faders etc as this would require sending multiple MIDI messages in a short time.
