10.3.2 will not start

Currently have release 9.5.3 installed on Windows Vista Ultimate machine. everything works great with this release. Just downloaded the latest release and installed it on the machine. Installed 10.3.2 into a different directory. When I try and start the new release I get the following error message. Hope someone has some idea on how to solve this.

Error 339 Component 'wmp.dll' or one of its dependencies not
correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
SCS 10.3.2
ProcName = continueLoading

wmp.dll is Microsoft Windows Media Player (WMP), so the message indicates that WMP is not installed. A requirement of SCS 10 is that you have WMP version 10 or later installed. WMP is only used for playing video cues, but SCS requires it whether or not you plan to use video cues.

WMP is installed and works fine. Any other ideas I might try.

Googling the complete error message (from Error to Invalid) brought up hundreds of hits. Most mentioned making sure one has the latest version of WMP, now 11 for Vista. I did come across this page which offers a specific registry repair tool. As always, create a Restore Point first (no idea how to do it in Vista, I have XPSp2).
