VISTA - Don't You Love It?

Hi Everyone . . . . I'm having an ongoing problem in running SCS with VISTA. Up until now I've very successfully run SCS on a laptop with XP using an ESI Quatafire audio interface giving me 8 discreet outputs. In order to have a back-up I bought a new laptop which unfortunately came installed with VISTA and even though I installed the appropriate driver, SCS would not run correctly. The support from ESI was particularly bad (actuially nil) and after much testing and gnashing of teeth I began to think that the driver for the Quatafire was to blame.
I've now just purchased a new box from M-Audio called the ProFire 610 . . . as the name implies it's another firewire device.
I've installed the driver on both the XP and VISTA laptop . . . the XP machine worked instantly and flawlessly, however the VISTA machine exhibited the same problems as with the Quatafire.
It appears that only the first two of the eight outputs will send out a signal . . . if I try to play a sub-cue that is directed to any of the others I come up with a message saying
"File C:\SCS FOREVER EVERLY\Pretty Flamingo - Lead Gtr.wav: Unavailable speaker" . . . . The same message comes up with any sub-cue not directed to output 1/2.
I've optimised the laptop for audio playback and have selected "Do NOT use SCS internal mixer" as a permanent option.
If anyone is running SCS with VISTA using a multi-output device I would love to hear from you . . . . settings/device etc!!!!
Cheers . . . Martin
