Can Windows Media Player (WMP) and SCS run simultaneously without clobbering each other?
In one of the theaters I advise, some techs are running preshow music on WMP while SCS is invoked and waiting for show to start. Once stage manager gives go ahead, they stop WMP and trigger first SCS cue for show... then use SCS for 2 hour show. Sometimes the computer hangs while trying to close WMP causing delays in show start up.
Is this an artifact of both apps trying to access the sound card causing the crash?
Long term solution is obvious.. that is to move preshow music to early cues in SCS. However, they are resistant to change right now...until break. They run 5 shows a week... year long except during load out and load in of new show. SCS getting lots of action!!
