Midi tempo?

Post by LCOLLINS1989 » Fri Dec 27, 2013 10:01 am

Hello everyone!

I recently bought SCS platinum to run backing tracks with a click and video for my live band. I also have It setup for midi patch changes for my guitar and keyboard rig, along with vocal fx. All of which I have created in cubase and then exported a midi file.

I have hit a stumbling block however as to how to sync the tempo between the devices. I can change the tempo on my synth using the master tempo on cubase but I cannot seem to export it in a format that SCS likes.

Has anyone encountered this problem and how did you get round it? I downloaded a midi monitor to see if the tempo on my keyboard was on a certain CC message but this appeared not to be the case.

Thanks again for reading this, SCS is amazing for my use and I cannot wait to use it in a band practice early next year!

Can you email me a MIDI file containing the master tempo setting, so I can see what SCS doesn't like about it?

It's odd, when I export a midi file there seems to be no tempo information attached.

The only thing I seem to be able to do in cubase is export a tempo map which is in a steinberg specific file type.

I will have another look today and send something over.

Thank you!

Ok, after more research I've discovered that cubase won't export the tempo as the idea is to be able to import it at different speeds.

In that case is there a way to make SCS generate a midi clock?

This probably belongs in feature requests now
