16 bit files and 24 bit files in same cue list?

Post by Brontoy » Fri Jan 11, 2013 9:19 am

I just wanted to confirm that it is possible and stable to have both 16 bit wave files and 24 bit wave files on a cue list and SCS will be happy and not hiccuping?

I just wanted to post this, Mike already confirmed it is possible and I will need do this for my upcoming production. I had problems logging onto the forum to ask this question, and I was not near my SCS computer. I had to answer this question to a composer by email.

I want to thank Mike for his timely replies and help. I am now able to log onto the forum again, and Mike was kind enough to answer my question as I needed an answer right away. Tomorrow I will be at my SCS computer and begin to build the project.

Happy New Year and Best Success,
Brontoy

Just a bit more info: I can't say I've knowingly tried using both 16-bit and 24-bit wav files in the same production, but I do not expect there to be a problem. This is because the BASS audio library is requested by SCS to use floating point. So the 16-bit and 24-bit data should be converted to the same format (floating point) on loading.
