Video playback problem

Post by ronb999 » Thu Dec 06, 2012 10:45 pm

I am running SCS 11.1.4 on my desktop machine in the office. It is a dual monitor system - desktop extended onto 2nd monitor. I insert a video cue into my scs file & it plays back fine in the editor playback window. When I try & run the cue, the first time it worked. I went to add other video cues, which all work in editor, but now nothing appears on the second screen from any cue - including the first. I inserted the video into powerpoint presentation and (using presenter view) played that - video plays fine on 2nd monitor. I've obviously got something set up wrong somewhere, but would like to sort it out before I get into the theatre, where time is limited. Any help appreciated.
Cheers

Hi
have you tried adjusting the video Drivers in the Options Menu

Select Video Driver Settings
In video Playback Library select Direct Show
In Video Renderer select VMR-7 Windowed

Try those settings they work well for me

Can also depend on what format of video file you are using. MPEG's give the most problems. AVI's seem the most reliable, and WMV's are also OK.

Was using avi & wmv - well aware of Windows dislike of other formats! Changed Video settings to VMR-7 Windowed and all was well. Thanks for your help!

Except it won't fade in or out - or can't that be done with video?

The current Video Playback Library is DirectShow, which does not support fading. xVideo, which does support fading, is expected soon when Mike is happy with the implementation.
