Video not showing after hotkey

Hi,

I was hoping on a working sequence this Thursday which I was sure I could do with SCS. But for some reason it doesn't work Can you tell me what I might be doing wrong?

Setup is easy. Sequence has two entries. First cue is a movie of about 5 minutes. Second cue is a still image, linked to a toggle hotkey.

I want to show the movie and at certain times show the still image. After the toggle, the movie should be visible again (preferably it should stop during the still image, but did not test that yet).

My problem: Movie starts ok. After hotkey still image shows. Again hotkey my screen goes blank, although SCS seems to think the movie still runs? So how do I make the movie show up again?

EDIT: I did try with an avi created with the suggested software, same result.

Unfortunately it’s not really feasible to try to share a video/image window with both a video and images simultaneously – this does seem to cause conflict in the window usage. Is the hotkey image always displayed at the same position(s) in the video playback? If so then can you ‘splice’ the image into the video at the required position(s) and for the required duration(s)?

Hi Mike,

Unfortunately I do not know the moment to show the image (actually multiple images and movies, but I simplified the problem for arguments sake) Would have been much easier, but it is dependent on the performances on stage.

As I have to do this production this Friday and sound is done by someone else I have to admit I will not use SCS for it, but ScreenMonkey ( http://www.screenmonkey.co.uk ). This seems to do the job for now. It gives me the functionality to run movies and temporarily show images on top of it, based on layers.

Although I am eager to use SCS for any occasion as I like it a lot, it seems that for video purposes it is not the optimal solution. I never did use SCS11 yet, does this have any changes on this part?

I'll have at look into the possibility of implementing layers to allow videos and images to alternate, etc. Should be feasible.
