Dante ASIO Output (resolved)

Post by Cory » Mon Apr 16, 2012 8:51 pm

Hi There,

Just been playing with the demo of SCS, looks brilliant but I need it to output to my ASIO device whiwch is the Dante Virtual soundcard, i can get REAPER to work so I know my ASIO setup is working but SCS does not even appear to acknowledge the Dante device.. Infact I cant see any options to select the ASIO system at all?
I'm using the internal mixer but that doesnt seem to make a difference.
I have checked the list of devices available in production settings but tha doesnt reveal anything either.

Any help appreciated

Cheers.

What is your physical sound card? Does that show up in SCS as an option?
Is the Dante set as the default sound output device in Windows?
Did you download the Dante Controller for the Dante Virtual Sound card? That is needed to control the Dante Virtual Sound card.
Also, the Dante sends to your ethernet port, which will then send to any Dante-enabled device. Do you have a Dante-enabled device connected to your computer via ethernet?

My default sound device is the onboard audio device, this works fine and SCS is able to play audio through this device
Yes all of the requisite Dante software is installed and working.
I'm outputting through to an A&H iLive iDR 64 mix rack, this is all working fine with other software that is capable of ASIO output, just not SCS.
Windows default sound device is the onboard audio device, i'm not sure that i can set the default as the Dante Virtual soundcard??

In the Audio Driver Options, make sure you do not have the 'Ignore ASIO' checkbox selected. If this checkbox is clear and, as you say, 'Use SCS internal mixer' is selected, then you should be able to see the ASIO device in Production Properties and the Device Mapper. Note that if you change either of these Audio Driver options then after clicking OK you will need to close and restart SCS.

If all the above is as I have specified then let me know and I'll email you details of a tracing version to run. This will log info about the devices that SCS finds.

Ok, i've checked my config. In answer to your questions 'Ignose ASIO' is unticked, 'Use SCS internal mixer' is selected.
Still no device is appearing in device mapper?

How do we go about running the debug to get an idea of what SCS is seeing?

Thanks!

Cory reported this problem seems to have been fixed after installing the debug version, which is the latest version of SCS.
