Manual Songs and Playback
Manual Songs and Playback
I previously had a problem with songs stuttering. After adjusting the playback and buffering to 6000ms the problem subsided, however now manual songs (not always, but quite often) will play a few seconds of song in about a second or two, then play the manual song that was cued. How can I fix this?

Not sure I understand your problem. You said your playback computer "will play a few seconds of song in about a second or two". Can you elaborate on this? Is it playing the song that was cued or a completely different cue?
What are your system specs?

It is the SCS 10.5.0, and to be honest, I cannot tell if it is playing the cued song or the previous one. It just plays something that sounds like a few seconds of song condensed into a second or two before playing the cued song.

Re: Manual Songs and Playback
What sound interface are you using, and what settings do you have under Permanent Options / Audio Driver?
Re: Manual Songs and Playback
Use software mixing instead of hardware mixing-checked
Force enabling of speaker assignments-checked
Prebuffering: set prebuffer length to 5000 milliseconds
Update period of playback buffers: SCS default update period [50 ms]
SCS Internal Mixer: Use SCS internal mixer
Playback Buffering: set playback buffer length to 5000 milliseconds
Sample rate: 44100

Re: Manual Songs and Playback
You didn't mention which sound interface you are using. If you are using a device that has WDM support for all the outputs you want to use, then change the SCS Internal mixer to 'Do NOT use SCS internal mixer', and use the defaults set for that option.
Re: Manual Songs and Playback
I am still very new at this and still going to school for sound. We have a Yamaha MG166cx-usb mixing console connected to our computer through the headphone jack that we run the sound through. Is that what you wanted to know?

Re: Manual Songs and Playback
If you're taking sound from the headphone jack that implies you are using the inbuilt soundcard. So to fix the stuttering all you need to do is go to the SCS Audio Driver Options and select 'Do NOT use SCS internal mixer'. Make sure the buffering and update options on this tab are all set to 'SCS default...'.
