To check whether or not it's a Windows sound, try clicking the 'Stop All' button in SCS instead of using the Esc key. If the 'Stop All' button doesn't give the 'bong' sound but the Esc key does then it would appear to be a Windows sound.

HI fincaman

The noise you discribe is a windows warning sound, if you are using the headphones output of you computor you will always hear it, the best way I have found is to go to sound in the control panel and then disable all 'windows' sounds while you use SCS. Best to use an external sound unit if you can then no windows sounds are heared.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply Peter I am using a PCMCIA creative sound card,it has lots of output routing which is great I thought my trouble was windows related so I have disabled windows sounds
