Thanks for the reply. The computer has plenty of time to load the drivers. Still no luck. It's just an extra step I'd rather not have to deal with.

I'm running SCS 10.6.2 and using a USB EMU MIDI 1X1 to control a lightboard. The problem is that every time I start SCS, I get a message that says no midi interface is configured, etc. I have to go into General Options/Permanent Options/MIDI Devices & Control and select the MIDI out. I just tested SCS on an Intel Mac running Sun's VirtualBox which is free. No problems whatsoever with installation and running the demo with the built in sound. I'll try some other tests using external sound device and midi.
