Companion Connection Plugin
Companion Connection Plugin
I'm just in the process of up[grading my Stream Deck software to version 3.0.1 of Companion and I've noticed the SCS connection has the amber triangle beside it indicting it's not been upgraded or tested against this release of companion.
Now it may of course work as is the case with a number of other plugins that haven't been touched - I haven't yet tried it. But my question is are there any plans to move this forward either to 3.0.1 or a furute release of Companion?

Re: Companion Connection Plugin
Dee99,
No, it's part of Companion not the native Elago Stream Deck software.
https://bitfocus.io/companion
Having said that I have controlled SCS using the native Elgato plug in - Super Macro from BarRaider. The big problem there is I seem to remeber SCS has to have the focus because SuperMacro is simply firing keystrokes. Which to be fair is no different if I were running SCS without a stream deck.
We are using the Companion to control camera's, streaming software, projection software, lighting, a sound desk as well as SCS so it works better for us.

Re: Companion Connection Plugin
Rather than key presses can you send osc commands?
Setup a cue command with Device: network in, Remote device: anydevice, Protocol: udp, Port: listen on a port of your chosing.
If you click the "show osc message formats" button it will display all the osc messages that you can send to SCS, this works even if
SCS is in the background.
Note you will need a plus or Platinum licence for network control to be active.

Re: Companion Connection Plugin
Dee,
I could do but we already have a whole set-up running.
This is about upgrading not re-writing and my initial query was really - will it still work as I've not had a chance to check as yet.

Re: Companion Connection Plugin
As far as I am aware this is a 3rd party plugin not an official SCS one. That said I looked through it's code and it appears to be using the osc commands
as described above. My suggestion is that you try it and hopefully it will all work as before. There is a github link in the plugin that you can use but it will go to the 3rd party developer.

Re: Companion Connection Plugin
Addendum: Of course if SCS crashes you can always send an email to support@showcuesystems.com along with any screen shots, details and the log file from your PC /documents/scs logs/ The files are dated and there may also be a SCS11_log.log file from the same date and time.

Re: Companion Connection Plugin
Thanks Dee,
I will get to try it - it's down on the list of things starting with an upgrade to W 11.
So tested using Companion Beta 3.1 Windows 10 and the plugin appears to work even through it is flagged as not upgraded in Companion.
