SCS v9.1.5 not recognising device (fix in 9.2.1)

Post by sjhands » Wed Jul 05, 2006 7:35 pm

Hi,

I'm trialling SCS before purchasing and I'm trying to use a Behringer UCA202 (USB) as the output device. The device shows in the physical device list as 'USB Audio CODEC' but it won't output a test tone and I get the error "Audio device 'USB Audio CODEC' not found. Using primary device..." when I try and save. However, if the UCA202 is set as the primary device in XP, then SCS will play sound through it.

So it seems that SCS can see the device and use it - it's only the editor that can't ???

Any ideas?

It seems this may be due to the fact that the name of the device was been published (presumably by Windows or a CODEC as this is a generic device) as 'USB Audio CODEC ' with a space at the end of the name. That space was causing SCS not to match the name with the list of available devices. We are currently testing a fix that trims off any trailing spaces to see if that corrects the problem.
