Hi folks.
I've seen prior discussions about font size on the forum, but it didn't seem like there was a solid resolution, so I'm checking in.
I recently went all-Mac for my sound design and music work, but I am still devoted to SCS. Even QLab doesn't come close, IMO. But rather than go the BootCamp route, I decided to try using VMWare Fusion 8. Other than Windows 8.1, a few utilities, and DropBox, there is nothing else installed except SCS. It took a little getting used to, but everything seems to run fine. My only problem is that the non-scalable fonts (in the control bar and the editor) are just too small [see screenshot] to be readable unless I set the display at the Larger Text setting. Is there a way to make these fonts larger without having to reset the display every time I want to work on a project? Would this still occur if I did it through Boot Camp?
Please advise. :-/

Re: Font-scaling Issues on Higher-Resolution Monitors
Does it help if you change the Font size under Options / General? I can't currently test this on a high resolution monitor as my secondary monitor resolution is 1920x1200 and the default SCS font and font size (Tahoma, 8) display clearly. In Windows I have the "size of text, apps, and other items' set to 100%.

Thanks for the reply.
After all that, I solved the problem. In VMWare Fusion, there's an option under Settings > Display to turn off the full resolution of the Retina display while using Fusion. That brought everything back to the proportions I was used to.
But thanks for reaching out, Mike.

WORKAROUND - Scaling Issues on Higher-Resolution Monitors
Mike is aware of the issue of the font scaling issues and is planning to look into the matter in due course. In the meantime, there is something that can be done as a workaround.
I have just treated myself to a Microsoft Surface Book which has a UHD screen (3000v2000 pixels). SCS11 has trouble with font sizes when running on such screens. Most other programs look fine, although I installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 and it too exhibited the same characteristic i.e.(extremely small text in menus, palettes etc). I stumbled across a workaround for the Adobe programs which works equally well for SCS.
It involves a simple registry modification, and dropping an XML file into the SCS11 install directory - simply download one of the 'manifest' files and change it's name to "scs11.exe.manifest" as explained on the web page.

It should also work for other programs that aren't happy with 4k monitors.

You should find this issue fixed in 11.5.2.
