MIDI cue control for live inputs

Post by barneyd » Wed Dec 07, 2022 2:08 pm

I use SCS with SoundMan Server for live inputs. I don’t have a BCR/F2000 control surface but I would like that sort of functionality. The Behringer devices are hard to get now.

It’s good to see that the level of audio output devices can be controlled with MIDI cue control, would it be possible for input levels to be controlled this way? That would mean you could use things like TouchOSC or a physical control surface that isn’t BCF2000 compatible to control faders without SCS needing to be constantly updated to support new hardware.

Thanks

Barneyd,

On BCF2000 availability I've just checked eBay here in the UK and I count 8 up for sale - all 2nd hand and from various locations round the world including one here in the UK. Price range from from about £120.

May be worth a look if you wanted one. I have to say they are magic little devices I use mine not just against SCS but for a variety of uses including agains Audio Workstations and lighting controllers.

Phil.

Phil's suggestion is definitely the best immediate solution. Note that the BCR2000 gives you control of more Live Input channels than the BCF2000 - see External 'Control Surface' Setup in the SCS Help.

Now that cue control is available for output devices, is there a reason why it can’t be available for input devices?

Just some time required to add this feature, so having this as a 'Feature Request' is noted.
