UI - Editor
For me the most cluttered part of the system is the Editor.
With a big show it often becomes difficult to find the cue that I want to edit or to navigator my way up and down to find what I'm looking for. Having said that I'm honestly not sure how to solve this. Perhaps being able to format or put colours on cue's - so I might colour all lighting cues yellow, sound cues green. Or cues 1-10 blue 11 - 20 green.

Regarding navigation, note that you can use Ctrl+F to find a cue, and SCS will search various fields for the text you enter, including the cue number, the description, the filename, and some other fields.
Re: UI - Editor
That certainly helps MIke. Goes to show how well featured a piece of software this is - I've been using it for the best part of 10 years now and it just keeps getting better. I've looked at all sorts of other similar packages both on PC and Mac, but I still keep coming back to Show Cue.

Two things:
Do you use page numbers in SCS?
Are you aware of the Renumber Cues option?
Through design and early rehearsals cue numbers are all over the place, but putting page numbers into the cues (in the page number field) makes scrolling the list to the cue you’re looking for much faster.
Even faster than that is to, once your cue list is pretty much production-ready and you’re ready to mark your script in pen and highlighter, make use of Renumber Cues so they’re back in some sense of numerical order.
Finally, I’ve recently started adding Note Cues at Act 1,2,3 etc with a start type of “Callable cue” - but I never actually call them. That puts a big visual separator in the cue list to aid scrolling.

Re: UI - Editor
That's a good suggestion! I've been using Note cues as you suggest, to separate the Acts, but I had left them as Manual cues. By making them 'Callable Cues' SCS will automatically skip over them and I won't have to manually execute the cues.

I do the same but make them auto, what advantage has callable over auto?
Thanks

Re: UI - Editor
Only that the cue doesn't have to be played, and will not appear in the cue panels - just in the cue list. The background color of the cue (in the cue list) will also by default be different.davidcoliver wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 7:41 amI do the same but make them auto, what advantage has callable over auto?
Re: UI - Editor
Actually - I've moved on a little and now make them Auto Start (as suggested) on completion of previous cue.
Same effect - they just jump over.
Just goes to show - more than one way to skin a rabbit.
