Convenience

Post by KenWinter » Wed Mar 11, 2020 8:07 pm

Good morning from Tampa, Florida (US)

When I make a sound plot for our community theater, I number ACT I cues with Q101, Q103, etc.
Then ACT II is Q201, Q203, etc. I number by 2 for ease of adding cues to the plot on the fly.
When finished (at least for the time being), I create a excel file of the cues.
I recently added about 18 sliding door cues to acts I and II.
This was a problem. I created a spreadsheet and numbered a new column 101 and then +2 to make a cliean act I.
Then I changed the first cue in act II to 201 and let the spreadsheet number.
Then I transferred the numbering to the editor, saved it and created a new spreadsheet.
Would you consider a renumber feature in the next release to be able to reset the cues and a way to change the next cue to start with a new number and renum from there?

I also notice that when I loop a phone ringing (for example) I do not get a time window. If I have a doorbell, I see the time elapsing. But not a cue that is looping.

I had also adked a long time ago for a 5 or 10 second back << or forward >> button in the editor as I use ShowCue for transcribing scripts to a word file.

Thanks and have a great day!

Thanks,
Ken Winter

Hi Ken,
there is already a renumbering function. You can find it in the editor under Cues->renumbering Cues. Also you can use the shortcut ctrl/r to enter the renumbering page. Then choose which cues to renumber, and from which startnumber and with which interval. Easy!
