Also I'm having trouble connecting the app since doing a clean install. I'm on the same wifi router and I have the app ticked in SCS and I have the right ip address and port number, but it will not connect, any ideas?

SCSremote is on Google Play again since several months.
Concerning connection issues, did you try to disable windows firewall ??
We experienced some rare issues after latest windows system updates.
