Using joystick port for controlling SCS

Post by djvomght » Mon Sep 08, 2008 6:41 pm

Hallo,

would it be possible to build in the possibility to control SCS via some buttons attached to the joystick port? This could be a "Go" and a "Stop" button and some hotkeys.
Two examples for possible applications:
- A sound to be started when a door is opened an stopped whe the door closes, like fader start on CD players.
- The people from theatre in Görlitz like to place an start button (connected to their MD players)at the directors desk for starting cues during performances.

It may be worth having a look at http://mckenzie-electronics.com/
under downloads is a free Joystick to midi application (SFXJOY1v111) that should do what your after.

One thing I should have mentioned is you will also need to download something like http://www.midiox.com/index.htm?http:// ... /myoke.htm to act as an internal midi port in order to route the signal from sfx joy to SCS.
