Show Cue System

Hi Mike,

It would be great if I could choose what gets displayed in the Q window.
For example, right now it says Q1 in a blue box, then has the file name (as per the file/info column). I would prefer if I had the option to instead have it display Q1, then the info from the description column.

This is because most of the time I have files named "track 1, track 2" and the decriptions give more information of what the cue really is.

What you are seeing next to the blue box is, in fact, the description, but it is the desciption of the sub-cue, not the description of the cue. For an audio file sub-cue this description is initially set to the 'title' of the file if it has one (eg in an MP3 file property), or to the name of the file excluding the extension if the file does not have a title. Here is an example:



The sub-cue description (in the lower part of the screen shot) was set to "Track 12" as per the filename without the extension, as this file does not contain a "Title" property. This sub-cue description was also copied up to the cue description.

If I change the sub-cue description to something else, such as the name of the song, then that is what will be displayed on the main screen in the cue display panels (ie next to the Q1 in the blue box). Changing the default sub-cue description also copies that change to the cue description.

I know it's a bit confusing, but have a look in the Help file at 'Cue and Sub-Cue Descriptions', which is under the topic 'The Run Screen'.

That is exactly what I was looking for.
