Profile Change Cue
Profile Change Cue
Hi, I thought I'd already posted this earlier... but cant now see it!
Is it possible to have a cue triggered by a change in the time profile?
I like to automate the backstage and FOH calls and to have them appropriate to the time of day, i.e. Matinee calls are addressed "Good Afternoon" and evening calls, "Good evening". Obviously the time settings can run most of the calls but the Interval calls are triggered by the House Music cue as runs 12 and 14 minutes after the House Music cue. I would like to enable/disable the appropriate cues on the run time profile.
Would this be a possibility?

Re: Profile Change Cue
Have a look at Time Based Cues in the Help. You just need separate cues (for this announcement) for the matinee and evening time profiles, and only set the 'time of day' field for the required time profile.
Re: Profile Change Cue
Hi Mike,
Yes, I'm using this for most cues but the ones I'm having difficulty with are the interval calls as they are not time of day triggered. If I could enable/disable cues depending on which time profile is selected then the same cue could start the timers and play just the appropriate cue.

Re: Profile Change Cue
Will Enable/Disable Cues help? If not, please email me your cue file (the .scs11 file) and tell me which cues are for the interval calls.
Re: Profile Change Cue
Yes, the enable/disable is what I'm using but I would like it to be triggered by the time profile change.
I've attached my cuefile template as it stands at the moment. I''m using hotkeys to enable/disable the approriate interval cues (Q21/Q22) but it would make a lot more sense if a change of time profile could enable/disable these, i.e. select 'Matinee' and Q21 is automatically enabled and Q22 is automatically disabled. Likewise, selecting 'Evening' would enable Q22 and disable Q21.
As it stands, I have to re-load the cuefile in order to change the mode as I've disabled the hotkeys once they've been used.
The rest of the cues (Q5-Q18) are timebased and all do what's required. It's the interval cues that would benefit from a timeprofile change triggered cue.

Re: Profile Change Cue
OK, I can see the issue you are referring to, and we will consider this feature request.
Currently, I suggest you change your initial Memo cue (Q1) to something like:
Select Time Profile (Matinee or Evening)
then select the corresponding hotkey
<M>atinee or <E>vening
Also change the Activation of Q1 to Auto Start 0.00 seconds after cue file loaded. This will force the memo cue to be displayed automatically as soon as the cue file is opened.

Ok Mike, thanks for the tips.

Re: Profile Change Cue
Hi Mike,
Following on from the previous, I had a thought: occasionally a production is longer or shorter than the norm and I also wondered if it may be possible to implement a time profile parameter that could be used for time based cues.
So for example, a maintee normally starts at 14:30 but on a longer show we may move it back to 14:00, so rather than having to edit all the time cues, a base point could be set in the Time Profile setting (Maintee 14:30) and in the Time Based cue Time Profile 'Time of Day' set to parameter "+/- time" ie. 30 min cast call at "Maintee -33.00" (13:57) / 3 minute FOH call at "Maintee -3.00" (14:27).
Now if we change the Time Profile Maintee setting to 14:00, those same cues would take place at 13:27 and 13:57 respectively.
I also think this may make setting up some time-based cues easier knowing the cue is n minutes before or after the specified Profile time.
What are your thoughts?

Mike,
I just spotted that sounds-technical's suggestion for a cue to trigger a profile change would solve my problem also (in reverse, but would do the job!)
