Hello,
Given the proliferation of the Ethernet-based streaming protocol, I would love to see these capabilities added to SCS:
-The ability to handle Newtek NDI video signals in and out of SCS natively. This would be very helpful to integrate SCS further in a Pro-AV environment and cut down on software client overhead on a windows machine.
I would love to see that capability expanded in the future. This way, I would hope to cut the reliance on physical video card outputs within a system and shift-over to virtual stream-able ones (with NDI - maybe DANTE AV/H?) over network with a good video card engine to push not only standard video resolutions but custom ones also. It may bring SCS further into media-player server category but I see a real demand and potential for it.
- Native Art-net / sACN support in SCS. Not having to rely on a USB-based dongle to output DMX would be very much welcomed as to permit the actual SCS computer to be run remotely. it would also make integration and site deployment work easier as nodes can be configured anywhere on a network. Having to use a USB pro only to convert it back to Etherdmx adds inherent failure points potential in a permanent installation.
- Lastly: ( a minor thing but annoying nonetheless) Please fix this Forum search box so that one can actually search 3-letter words! the minimum 4-letter requirement in order to execute a search is an impediment to many relevant topics subjects.
I'm sure many of us would like to know what success and lessons learned we all gained so far with 3-letter topics like NDI, OBS, DMX and other 2 letter lingo like BM (for BlackMagic) BD (for birddog products) and further make that accessible to all.
Keep up the great work on SCS.
Cheers,
Chris

Mike works miracles with SCS, but does not design the Forum, which is provided by phpBB, the organisation behind many web forums. They determine the criteria for all aspects of the design of the SCS Forum, including the search engine. I think it is a bit much to expect Mike to redesign that as well.Chris Legare wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 9:34 am

Hi Malcolm,
Got it, fair enough. I wasn`t sure who to warn about it. phpBB seemed new to me out here. I`ll suggest that change to them directly then.
Thanks for the feedback,
Regards,
Chris

Chris,
Malcolm's correct, but the phpBB developers wont be much help. The forum's Admin / Search Settings indicates this minimum (4 characters) is set by the MySql settings, and that "You or your host can only change this setting by changing the mysql configuration." I had a look into the MySql settings on our hosting site, and there is no such configuration setting available that I can change.
Regarding the other matters, we will shortly be looking into Art-Net support.

Hi Mike,
Sorry for the late reply here - I was away on extended leave.
Thank you for looking into the forum search functions on the SQL back-end nonetheless.
I see Art-Net is now part of the latest release... I will make arrangements to buy the latest release and try it.
Thanks again,
Chris

I'm also quite interested in the NDI in- and output possibilities.
I believe I somewhere read that you were already looking into this when NDI tools 5.5 came out Mike? (This topic)
Hope to see this in one of the upcoming releases soon.
