Show Cue System

I've been using SCS for a little less than two years, so forgive me if there's a way to already do this, that I just haven't discovered.

I'd like to add an option check box or pull-down that allows SCS to do audio "pass-thru" direct to the HDMI out of the PC, when playing a video with a multi-channel AC3 or DTS audio.

Background... we occasionally do private "friends and family" movie viewings. I'd like to add a video cue and have the multi-channel soundtrack pass-thru to the HDMI out along with the video and let the video device's built-in AC3/DTS decoder handle it. We have a dedicated AC3/DTS processor. This would mean SCS wouldn't need to process or decode the audio, just pass it along.

This would be on a cue by cue basis.

When the movie ends, we can activate the next cue, to bring up the house lights.

Our Community Theater uses SCS to send 10 audio channels from a PC to a Mixer, and HDMI through a 7.1 Surround Decoder to a Projector.

Normally, SCS Slides or Video for stage plays just pass through the 7.1 Decoder (unused), to the projector.

For private functions like movie screenings, we have a Media Player, Blu-ray, and Ad player. All these other devices also route through the 7.1 Decoder. The Decoder processes the AC3/DTS soundtrack (sends it to the Mixer) and forwards the video to the projector.

We'd like to be able to use SCS to cue multi-channel video files (mp4, mkv, etc) for playback and PRESERVE the audio channels.

For this there would appear to be two possible solutions:
1) Have SCS decode AC3/DTS and patch it to user selected outputs, or
2) Have SCS pass the AC3/DTS straight through the HDMI out to let an external decoder handle it - in our case, the 7.1 Decoder.

Option 2 SEEMS like it may be easier to implement.

Option 1 would require a drop-down box to choose WHICH audio stream to decode, then a patch interface to make sure that each channel is correctly routed to the necessary audio outputs.

The desire is to automate playback.
1) Bring down house lights,
2) Play a preshow Cartoon or Newsreel,
3) Play a fun policy trailer or two,
4) Play main feature,
5) Bring up house lights during credit roll (using a timer).

That way, once programmed, a volunteer can easily "launch" a private viewing and walk away from the PC.
