Trigger via LTC

Post by matteo » Wed Sep 04, 2019 11:05 pm

Hi everyone.
I tryed to look in the topics, but it's not really clear.
i need to trigger an audio mixer via midi and timecode.
i'm receiving a LTC from a usb soundcard and what i need to do is creating some cue to change memories on the mixer following the tomecode.
does anyone had some experience?

What's sending the LTC? If it's the USB soundcard, what make and model of USB soundcard? Is it definitely LTC (Linear Timecode) and not MTC (MIDI Timecode)?

The timecode generator (LTC) is watchout.
So in it's timeline there is sn embedded timecode, It comes out via USB card and It's distributed on xlr connectors.
I need to plug this ltc into my soundcard and i need to send midi tones to a yamaha ql5 via midi.
the software manage this feature?

SCS can send LTC but does not support Cue Control by incoming LTC. MTC is supported both ways.

So if i convert LTC to MTC, i can grab It into SCS and use this to create a cue to change program. Right?

Correct. But you will need an SCS Professional Plus license. See MIDI Time Code (MTC) in the Help for more info.

I've successfully issued scene change midi Control Send cue to my Bheringer XR mixer by sending it a Program Change message, as well as individual channel level changes. Really useful on the show I'm currently working on so as to essentially reconfigure the sound desk for each of the 4 scenes.

Took a little figuring out but pretty simple once I got there. And that goes across via USB alongside audio cues to the mixer.

So I guess upon receiving your trigger you should be able to issue the Program change cue. Needless to say probably worth checking your mixer's documentation to see what it accepts exactly.

Phil.
