Is it possible to have a Fade In override option on a Call Cue.

SO to explain:

I have the same cue running several time - so set it up as a Callable Cue - that way I only have to set the volume once. However I need to fade it in at different rates each time. SO when I use the Call Cue it would be nice to have an override that I can specify for the fade in.

An alternative implementation might be to extend the SFR cue type to include new START AND FADE IN option, allowing it to Start and fade in a Callable Cue with a Fade Override. Then I can call the appropriate SFR cue for which fade in time I need.

This feature would make level setting easier at Tech time meaning that the cue level only needs to be set the once.

I did think about Hibernation as that might do it, but hibernation becomes a pain at rehearsal times on occasions when we may jump back a couple of pages and the now hibernated cue is supposed to be active.

This addition to the SFR functionality seems a workable suggestion and keeps the 'time override for fades' in one place, rather than duplicating it in the Call Cue.

That's fine. Working in an amateur I sometimes have to hand over to less experienced Sound Tech's so it's sometimes about making it easy for them as well as me.

Actually I've been having second thoughts about this, and maybe adding the optional fade-in override to 'Call Cue' would be better. This is because to apply this change to the SFR Cue would mean that a 'callable cue' could be called by either a cue of type 'Call Cue' or a cue of type 'SFR Cue'. It's probably better to leave callable cues to be actioned only by cues of type 'Call Cue'.

I like this idea.
And could be helpful to have the possibility to override the fade in of lighting cues too.

I usually set lighting cues as callable.
Then I can reuse a lighting cue when the same set is used in the theater scene.
I use to have all lighting cues at the end of the cue file.
This makes adjustments easy to do in technical rehearsals.
But sometimes I need diferent fade in times, and I must copy the cue two or three times with diferent fade in times.

Which ever you feel is the most appropriate approach.

My preference would be to have an override on the Call Cue, but that then opens the stable door a little to say - what else could/should be available to override.

Putting a Start and Fade in option on the S (S now standing for Start or Stop) FR cue makes it a little more complex from a sequencing perspective. You'd have to CALL an SFR cue which has the appropriate fade in override set which in turn will then CALL the actual sound cue which has the appropriate level set in it. So the audio starts and fades in using the fade in override from the SFR cue.

So all this is considering from an Audio perspective - I think the same would also be true from a lighting perspective but I haven't though that through.
