UI Makeover

The UI in its current state works perfectly and is well organised. I just feel that the design and styling could be improved, almost to the spec of the main website. What do people think?

+1 for that
Even if SCS runs smooth and stable, the amount of redrawing of the UI when triggering cues feels a little Bit uncomfortable. Like it is a Little bit buggy or unstable (wich it is not). I Love the UI and Level Meters of Ableton Live or maybe qLab.
A refreshed and not so often redrawing UI of SCS would give a new and better trustworthy feel. But it is just a feel. SCS works well:)

Given the large number of satisfied SCS users, many of who are pushing for yet more bells and whistles, I wouldn't have thought that a purely cosmetic redesign of the UI, which we all know, would be the best use of Mike's time.

You are right Gordon, some things wich have been asked for, maybe considered bells and whistles and could be done with better preparation or/and the help of other software. But the UI is the door to the software. I work with alot of software on a daily basis, like Ableton, qLab, Nuendo, MadMapper or Lighting Software like Onyx. And the look and feel is extremly important to me. I like to work with SCS aswell, dont get me wrong please. Great piece of software wich i keep using. But the look and feel is not its strength. Just my 2 cents:) no offence!

You should find that SCS 11.8.0 (pre-release available) will reduce the amount of redrawing.
Regarding a 'UI Makeover', there may be an opportunity for us to work on this provided our development platform (PureBasic) goes ahead with a proposed integration with
sciter. There has been quite a bit of discussion about this on the PureBasic Forum.

Hi Mike, sorry for the Delay in my response. Less time unfortunatly.
Yes it may apear a little bit better on my win7 Laptop with lower resolution. But the flickering and redrawing is still there. On my Surface Pro 3 with high resolution it feels very uncomfortable. I use it just for testing a the moment.
To be honest, i am ok with it, as long as it does its thing. I sometimes just wish SCS would feel as smooth as Live or qLab. I got once asked by a director sitting next to me, if everthing is ok with my Laptop regarding the flickering and redrawing. He was more like a nervous guy anyway.
Form follows function, as walther röhrl would say. The power comes from under the hood. So nevermind.
Thank you and nice easter to everone
