Hi Mike,
I primarily use Collect Production Files with the "Do NOT switch to the collected folder" option in order to backup my files to a USB drive for safety, and also to transfer the production to our backup computer.
If I have already backed up my production once, then I make changes to cues, then backup again to the same location on the USB drive, the updated cue file is not backed up because SCS detects that it already exists in the destination folder. If I don't remember to manually delete the cue file from the destination folder then my backup will contain an out-of-date cue file; I've been caught out by this a couple of times.
I can see the advantage of the "already in folder" detection to prevent unnecessary copying of large media files and to prevent accidentally overwriting files that already exist in the destination, but for the "Do not switch" scenario I suspect many people would want existing files in the destination folder to be overwritten if the file being copied has a newer time stamp than the existing file. Would it be possible to change this logic, or add an option for the user to choose which behavior they want?
Thanks,
Tim.
