Simple cue display for second screen

Post by Tewkesound » Tue Jul 05, 2016 7:55 am

Hi Mike,

A suggestion - Would it be possible to add a simple “Now playing / cue progress / Next Manual Cue (s)” display for a second screen?

I envisage this as a secondary display to supplement the information on the main screen, so the standard set of playback information would still be available on the main display. There wouldn't need to be any interactive elements to this secondary display.

I realise that much of this can be done on the main screen by customising the view under "performance mode" but even if you cut the display options right down there is still some clutter and small text. The main priorities for me are: 1) What will happen when I hit "Go"? 2) What is happening now? and 3) When will the current cue end?

This could be useful for stage managers and MDs, or for SCS operators triggering cues from an external control surface. My particular use case would be a small screen mounted behind my X32 as a confidence check that I am about to fire the correct cue. The laptop would be within easy reach but out of my eyeline.

If a low resolution output option was available then this could even be fed into a series of remote screens via composite video etc.

Thanks for the great software!

Rob

Having thought about this a bit more, I have an alternative suggestion:

How about adding a "simple" web server capability to provide a status screen on remote computers? As per my post above no interaction would be required, just a read-only status view.

Thanks!
