Cursor time position in Editor (in SCS 11)

It would be nice to have some way to see the position of the Cursor, by time, in the waveform display window of the Editor. This would be helpful when a cursor Start Position has been chosen but needs to be changed. For example, if my Start Time has been chosen as :10.4 but it's not quite on the beat needed, I click on the waveform to place the cursor where I think to be the better Start Point. It might be great as I play it back, but when I hit stop the Cursor resets to the Start Point and I must then guess the location of the cursor position. Not a deal breaker, but on a busy waveform it could take me a few times to find that better start point. If the Cursor had a position window or even the position time shown just above it on the yellow header of the waveform display that would be very helpful. It would make it easy to simply type in a new Start Point time.

At the same time, would it be possible to incorporate the feature in this request? I think they are releated to a degree.

Not sure they are related, Carleton. What you are asking is readily available in audio editing programs, as you know. In my opinion it's much better to edit the file before putting it into SCS. That cuts down on the size of waveforms loading into the program.
Oh, and Mike, the Cursor time position I'm requesting would be relative to the start point of the entire waveform loaded into the program, NOT whatever Start Point has been chosen.

I've now added this to SCS 11 - it will be in the next beta release.
What Carl's referring to is determining something like a start or loop point in the audio editing program, and placing a marker in the file at that point. The idea then is for you to be able to set a start point etc in SCS by choosing an available marker.

I see. I guess I got thrown off when I read his original post, where it gave the example of recordings that have multiple takes and you would put it in SCS and place a marker at, say take 4 because you liked that one the best - that just sounded like some editing to me.
But the marker idea for start points is a pretty good one. I would certainly use it. I do a lot of corporate events and conventions where the client gives me a song list for play-ons and play-offs the day of the event. Each song played might last only 5 to 10 seconds, but frequently the songs are full versions and have slow and/or quiet beginnings that are inappropriate for play-ons. Therefore I'm searching in many of the songs for better start points, so anything to help that process would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm...
I don't download and use these Beta versions but this might change that for me.
