video output to firewire

I am currently using scs for a video-theatre project in Antwerp, Belgium
One pc runs SCS, the other Mac runs on Q-lab, mainly cause the fade function, and no short black dips between videocuts!
On the pc with SCS, I use the built in S)video output to the mixer, wich has a very low quality, so I 'd like to use my Canopus ADVC-300, which has a high-end convertion with timebase corrector inside! Therefore I'd need SCS to be able to output to Firewire, just like Adobe After Effects and Première, and other editing programs can do!

Btw, since the update to 10.8.2 I can't resync the production folder anymore, I need to make a new one! (No problem if I overwrite on the old one, but just to let u know...)

grtz, and keep going Mike, more and more people in Belgium have found SCS since I started using it around 4 years ago )))

SCS can output to any device that has a WDM or ASIO driver installed on the same PC as SCS. That includes devices connected by Firewire. I've had a look at the ADVC-300 User Manual and there's no indication as whether they provide WDM or ASIO drivers. Can you see the device in the Windows Sound Control Panel items? Note that in SCS you need to enable the 'internal mixer' if you want to use ASIO.

I've just tested this OK with 10.8.2. What happens when you try to resync - or is the 'resync' item disabled in your menu?

Asio and WDM is about audio, I was talking about the output of video to not just another screen or videocard, but directly to firewire... as it is done in some pro video-editing programs!
Another option for me is using a vga to s-video convertor, but this rescaling takes away some sharpness and detail.

The resync option is grayed out since the update, maybe i should reinstall...

Oh! I'll need to do some research into alternative video output options.
