File Rename

When resyncing the production folder oft times you end up with duplicate file names. This necessitates opening SCS to get the file name and location then explorer, navigating to the offending file, renaming then in SCS opening the cue and selecting the new file name.

Is it possible to have a rename button that would rename the the file and update the SCS database in one go? This would make using the production folder much easier and less time consuming. Particularly if several files are involved.

Do you mean providing a 'rename file' facility as part of the Production Folder Create/Sync process, if a potentially duplicate filename is found? SCS already has a 'Rename' button in the Audio File sub-cue properties tab in the Editor.

Exactly. I think this would be the most convent place for it as this is topically when you encounter the the problem. Adding a couple of buttons to the warning of duplicate file names that then lets you rename individually or skip for manual intervention. This would add the functionality to all types of cues and files.

Alternately a rename button that pops up a rename window on each type of cue would get the job done as well while allowing you to head off the problems in advance. This would probably require more work on the the programming end.

With the current setup you limited to just audio files used as sub cues.
