blank audio cues

forgive me if I'm suggesting something already covered in an earlier post- had a quick scan and couldn't see anything

It would be great to be able to create audio cues without having to assign an audio file to that cue. Often I'll find myself creating a cue list before I have all the audio files, and its a hassle to have to specify a placeholder file- then to have to replace it when I get the actual cue. Perhaps there could be an option to automatically 'disable' new blank cues, or leave them enabled and just do nothing when the cue is triggered from the cue list.

Kind regards,
t

why not just use a note cue?

Because then instead of just swapping out the audio file when I got the correct file I would have to create a new audio cue, with the same numbering as the note file and then delete the note cue, seems like more hassle rather than less hassle to me!

It seems to me that replacing the cue file is not much more onerous than inserting one in a blank position. What you would be saving is the extra click to select the placeholder file each time. How about creating one cue with a placeholder audio file, setting it as disabled (uncheck enabled), then copying and pasting wherever you need a dummy cue? It will be readily identifiable in the cue list and won't be active. Obviously you'll have to rename each cue, but then you'd have to do that anyway.

Malcolm details they way I currently create my cue file, and I found that by creating a silent wav file, and using that, I could slowly replace these when the correct SFX is found. However I did submit a feature request to be able to change one type of cue file to another, this would also provide the answer to Terrein. I submitted the request to enable me to change audio / note cues to control cues.
Hope this helps.
