Show Cue System

It occurred to me that my MD's rehearsal requests could be easily addressed by bookmarks (not cues) - Something like simple bookmarks at arbitrary locations in an audio file. Since they wouldn't need to be cues at all, they could be rendered differently and they wouldn't interfere with or participate in cue processing. It's simply something that would associate a descriptive name with a time.

UI-wise, bookmarks/markers could easily be rendered as a little flag (triangle-looking) above the audio and a simple drop-down list box of your markers. But there's really no reason that they'd need to be a cue or factor in at all into the cues.

Adding a bookmark or marker in the audio could be a right-click, or a menu item that would allow you to type in a descriptive name (like Measure 15, or Rehearsal Mark [A] ).

Although no doubt it could be done as you suggest, it is more work for the development team and you have to consider how many users would find it of use.
I'm strongly against bloating the software with features very few people would find of use (AKA MS Office). I would rather not risk destabilising SCS with rarely used code.
The way to program the effect you require has been suggested in another thread ie making multiple files with differing start points and deserves a try.
It won't take very long to make up the cues, You could make one cue with the complete audio file in it then copy/paste as many times as required, then just move the start point in each cue. the cue can have a descriptive name 'Measure 15' 'Rehearsal Mark A' etc. Just as quick as inserting bookmarks and no risk to reliability!
