When in a show tech / pre-production that utilizes music, I often find myself trying find the relative time to set a subsequent new cue/sub-cue GO point for auto-start cues. This particularly applies to level changes that are ultimately based on a particular bar/beat, irrespective of what 'time' that may represent. It would be great to be able to put SCS in a 'time capture' mode in tech, whilst running a music cue, and simply tap in, on a predetermined key, the moment required. One could then come back to that captured time in the Editor and add the Cue components required.
Would save hours in the Editor looking at wave forms trying to locate the required moment, or watching a count up/down time trying to grab the subsequent auto-start time.

Taking a time capture feature one step further, and easier, it would be great to be able to load a string of cues in the usual manner, set with manual triggers. Then, in order to set auto-start times, have the option in the Trigger dropdown menu select something like 'Autostart - Time Capture" for each subsequent cue that requires an autostart time. Simply run the cue sequence, manually hitting go at appropriate times, and have SCS auto populate the auto start time windows to match. Similar to DAW automation
Would save much time, to a Director's delight, in not having to manually find start times for autostart sequences.

A planned new feature may provide what you need. SCS currently supports Audio File Cue Points and Markers (click on that link for info). I've had requests for SCS to be able to create it's own markers using the approach you suggest, ie for you to start playing a cue (in the editor) and whenever you press a nominated key then SCS would generate a marker for that point. Other cues (or sub-cues) should then be able to be triggered by that SCS Marker when it is encountered during the playing of that cue.Andrea Cole wrote:It would be great to be able to put SCS in a 'time capture' mode in tech, whilst running a music cue, and simply tap in, on a predetermined key, the moment required.
