Support Replaygain tags

Post by einhirn » Thu Oct 30, 2014 6:59 pm

Hello,

I'm just about to level all of my audio files for a production and thought how nice it would be if SCS could do the same thing my MP3/Mediaplayer (called foobar2000) does: It uses precomputed Gain and Peak values from MP3 (or other Media-Metadata) to level the overall loudness of the playlist automatically. That thing is called "Replaygain": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReplayGain, http://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=Replaygain and http://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?ti ... cification

If that method could be applied to SCS, one could "replaygain-scan" all audio files for a production and SCS would level them automatically for all to have the same "source loudness". Of course one could change playback loudness via regular fader settings, but those would all be relative to the same "source loudness"...

thanks for considering and bye
