[In 11.2.1] Timer Cues

Post by squuk » Mon Nov 26, 2012 10:24 pm

Hi,

I've been using SCS for a couple of years and it's been absolutely brilliant. When on a show I'm often asked at the end of a performance by the director or member of the production team how long the show ran for. I usually have no idea how long it was! But SCS could help with this.......

Would it be possible to add a new cue type of 'timer' (or stop watch)? This would be brilliant for timing performances. The cues to start and stop a timer could be linked to auto-start as most shows have a cue of some sort (background music, announcement and so on) at the start and end of each act. We'd then have an accurate timing of the total length of the show, or even be able to see if an interval is over-running etc etc. I can't see any way of achieving this with the existing functionality.

Thanks,
Matt

I'm aware you want to have it built-into SCS but if you have an iPhone there is an app I use that may do what you request.

It's called Show Timer and it's by West Side Systems - Eric Cornwell.

I use it to not only time the show parts but to track intermission. It will e-mail you the logs it creates. It also has a stop watch feature.

Other than just a satisfied customer, no link to the app at all.

Hi Carl,

That's fab thanks. I think I'll invest in that as it drives me mad not knowing how long an interval has been going on for!!

In SCS 11.2.1 RC2 - see info about 'Production Timer'.

Perhaps better would be a "History" log, like I have on my lx console. That has a little box on the lower right of the screen which tracks operation of the "Go" button among others. Then you will end up with a list of what happened when.
