This is a request based on a real-world situation I ran into a few months.
It would be nice if it were possible to still have the little video window that pops up on the cue screen when you're testing without being connected to a projector to still be an option even when connected to a projector.
Ran into a situation where the video operator ended up being positioned behind the screen, and since the video was being front projected onto an opaque screen, they never really knew if anything was up on the screen or not. Aside from SCS showing that cue # whatever was playing.

Even if with what you are asking were able to be done (leave that one for Mike to answer) there would be still no way of knowing if it was still being projected correctly
so when I ran into this problem sometime ago I over came it by adding a VGA splitter box to the Laptop output and displayed a duel image, one to a monitor next to me
and the other to the projector.
The other way would mean more work and equipment, you could have a camera set up showing the screen on a preview monitor next to your control point.
Just a couple of ideas for you

Splitting the video would probably be the way to go.
The situation where I ran into this was at a remote outdoor location. About 30 minutes before the start of the show, it was decided to move the video operator from the "booth", which was in front of the stage, to the back of the stage, behind the screen. There was no time to get a splitter, another monitor, or cable from the theatre before the show started. So the operator had to just hope that things were going right.
