Just as in MS Word 2010, I can save documents in Word 2007 or Word 2003 format (losing any feature not available in those older formats) in order to allow people with older versions to open the document, so it would be really useful to be able to save a .scs cue file from SCS 10.8.x, in the older format readable by SCS 10.7 and SCS 9. Similarly, and even more important IMO, SCS 11 should be able to save in older formats supported by at least 10.8.x and 10.7.x, if not 9.x as I suspect it will take some places quite a while to make that jump, and as a free-lancer working in several theatres which use SCS (after I suggested/demo'd it to them), I really need to be ab le to prepare the cue files at home on my own machine and then take them to the venue and just copy them over.
Background:
I roll up at one of our local venues yesterday with the show on USB, only to find that they are still running 10.7.5 (I have 10.8.5) as they just haven't had the time to keep up with the updates. 10.7.5 hangs when you try to open a .scsq file, so I had to spend 1.5 hours recreating the cue file manually. Fortunately I had brought the printout of the cue details with me.
Strangely, the last verion of SCS 9 opens the V10.8.5 scsq file with no problems on my home machine which has both SCS9 and SCS10.8 on it.
